PROPOSITION KK
Starting April 1, 2025, Colorado will implement a 6.5% excise tax on the sale of firearms, firearm precursor parts, and ammunition, as mandated by Proposition KK, approved by voters in November 2024.
This tax applies to most firearm dealers, manufacturers, and ammunition vendors in the state, with exemptions for businesses with annual sales under $20,000, as well as purchases by law enforcement agencies and active-duty military personnel.
For example, a $500 handgun will incur an additional $33 in taxes, while $20 worth of ammunition will see a $1.30 increase.
We are working hard to find a creative way to offset this 6.5% increase. Please stay tune!
